It has large bedrooms and boasts essentially the same floor plan as the Veranda. In the manicured tropical gardens there are two private tiled patios, secure gated parking, and a gardener. Nature lovers with enjoy the flocks of birds, army of frogs, and families of tejones (coatis) that call our neighborhood home. Bullet   The “Blue Monkey” was the name of our family’s 200-year old pub and former Inn, now demolished, in St. Budeaux, Plymouth, England.  It opened as a public house in the late 1700s or early 1880s and became the “Blue Monkey” in 1939.  Theories about the name’s origin include the mascot of a Royal Marine Regiment stationed nearby in the 1800’s.  Also, those tight jackets worn by British seamen were called monkey suits.  Another theory is  men who fired the cannons onboard ships were called “powder monkeys” and supposedly turned blue from the gunpowder.  Alas, the old Inn burned down in 2007.  Our new Inn was built late the same year!
